Blue Sky Update – Aug 2021

It’s already September – where has that time gone? Still, here it is, August’s recap of my life as a career coach, writer, and human being, holidaying and getting to grips with the garden.

Are you showing up in full on LinkedIn?

There is a more playful side to my nature – which I think emerges more on Twitter. The platform where I am more inclined to respond with a light-hearted quip – where appropriate and relevant. Not something that I would necessarily do on LinkedIn. So which parts of your personality are less well-known on LinkedIn?

And while we are on the subject, what has happened to the LinkedIn Algorithm? There no longer seems to be a link between post views and visits to my profile.

Or is this just me ????.

Spiky things

‘I think they are rather lovely,’ my husband’s comment about the Cordylines in our garden.

They are not my favourite, and there is one large plant near the shed that I would quite like to remove.

So, in response to my ‘really?’

My husband turns to me and says, ‘haven’t you realised I like spiky things, Janice?’

Enough said ????.

And after twenty-five years together, he still manages to surprise me.

Seeing this made me smile.

The toolbox I made almost 40 years ago, while on my engineering course, is still going strong. I guess it must be the craftmanship ????. And at the time, I had no idea quite how my career was going to pan out, and I certainly had no idea I would end up running my own business.

It just goes to show careers rarely follow a straight line.

The Kindness Project

It was interesting to work through the BBC’s kindness questionnaire and think through what kindness means to me – it takes around 30 minutes to complete. I look forward to seeing the results.

Until next month

Janice
